Holiday Club 2010 - Rocky's Plaice

Holiday Club 2010 will take place in the hall at St John’s between 9.30am and 12noon from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th August culminating in the usual joint service in St John’s on Sunday 8th August.  The Family Barbecue is on Friday 6th August as usual and all are welcome.

This year, in our very own fish and chip restaurant, we use the book of Acts to find out about Peter and how knowing Jesus changed his life. We’ll find out how Peter and his friends started to change the world and how the early church started to grow. We’ll share the stories of the Ascension, Pentecost, healing the lame man, Dorcas and Cornelius.

Rest assured we will be offering the usual mix of fun and excitement with songs, games, arts and crafts, stories and live drama.

Holiday Club is open at all children who have completed primary 1 up to primary 7.  Registration forms will be available by the end of June from the Lighthouse or individual churches.

There are lots of ways to get involved.  We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated, energetic helpers who return each year to make and serve refreshments, lead and support groups of children, help set up the hall, provide craft activities and run the games. Each year we are glad to welcome new faces who quickly feel part of the team and if you think you can help then please get in touch with us (details below) or come along to our planning meetings. If you’re in High School and too old to register for the club but still want to be involved, then think about coming along to help.  Every year our team of teenage helpers increases and adds so much to the success of the club.

If you can’t come along then we are also very happy to accept donations of resources and would be grateful for your prayers for a successful and fun-filled week.

Watch out for more information on posters, in the church news and on the church website.  If you’d like to help with this year’s holiday club or require more information, please contact
