Sunday 1st November 2009 - All Saints Day

  • A warm welcome is extended to all who gather for worship and especially to any visitors. Please sign our Visitors’ Book in the vestibule.   
  • A special welcome to Rev George Fairlie, formerly of Crail Church, who is leading both services this morning.
  • 9.45am Morning worship in the church at Dairsie and Sunday School in the church hall.
  • 11.15am Morning Worship in the church at St John’s and Sunday Youth Groups in the church hall.
  • Everyone is invited round to the hall for tea, coffee and juice after the 11.15am service.
  • Traidcraft Stall after the 11.15am service in the hall at St Johns. 
  • 2.30pm A special service for those who have been bereaved during the last year or for those who want to remember the life of a loved one who has died will be held in Cupar Old Parish Church followed by afternoon tea in the OPC.  Everyone will be most welcome to attend.
  • Elders and Team members will find the Session Minutes in their pigeon-holes.

Tuesday 3rd November

  • 7.30pm Kirk Session Meeting in the hall at St John’s.

Wednesday 4th November

  • 9.30-10am Half-hour midweek service in the church hall at St John’s followed by tea/coffee. All welcome.
  • 2-4pm The Leisure Group meets for Carpet Bowls, tea and chat every Wednesday in the Hall. 

Thursday 5th November

  • 2.15pm The Guild at St Johns meets in the Church Hall. The speaker is Alisdair Stewart who will tell us about the work of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).  All welcome.

Friday 6th November

  • 8.30am -12noon The Church Gardening Group meets to look after the church grounds at St John’s. Past members and any others who wish to help will be made welcome any Friday morning.
  • 2-4pm Time Together in the church hall at St John’s. This is an opportunity for a chat, a game of Scrabble and a cup of tea. Work on your craft interests or simply share them with others. Transport may be arranged for any who would find it difficult to come otherwise.

Sunday 8th November – Remembrance Sunday

  • Morning Services 9.45am (church at Dairsie) and 11.30am (church at St John’s) led by Rev Dr Graham Blount. The service in St.John's will begin at 11.30am to allow people to attend the service at the War Memorial.

Thursday 12th November

  • The Prayer Group will meet at 7.30pm in St John's Session Room. The Bible Study Group meets at 8pm following the Prayer Group. All welcome to either or both meetings.

Refreshments Group

  • There will be a meeting of the Refreshments Group on Sunday 15th November in the side chapel at St John’s after the morning service.

Crossreach

  • The Crossreach Christmas Catalogue is now available.  There is a wide range of cards and some nice gift ideas. Order forms will be placed on the tables in the hall after the service today. Please see Margaret Kennedy if you are keen to place an order.  Remember that Crossreach is the Church of Scotland’s   Care provider; providing care to a wide range of people, young and old, with varying needs. The organisation relies heavily on our generosity, purchases from the catalogue being one of the many ways of giving a little.

Worship Leaders

  • Anyone interested in being trained to become a Worship Leader within the congregation is invited to a series of classes organised by the Presbytery that will be held on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th November from 7.30 – 9.30pm in Springfield Parish Church Hall. Gift Aid Declaration Forms 

  • It would be a great help if any one who does pay tax and who is happy to sign a Gift Aid Declaration form but has not yet done so would do so as soon as possible.   If you have mislaid your form they are available on the table in the vestibule so please take one as you leave the church.

Scottish Bible Society

  • Your contributions for November can be placed in the calendar pocket in the vestibule at St Johns. They will help The Bible Society provide resources and, with specially graded scripture booklets,  will help educate the illiterate people of Mexico.

Pastoral Care

  • During the Minister’s absence, Pastoral Cover is being supplied by Rev Caroline Taylor and Rev Colin Dempster as available.
